About Jimmy

For Jimmy Elcock, music isn’t an occupation; it’s a lifestyle. From the age of four, he was playing the piano at his grandmother’s house. After an opportunity to play a PVC instrument of his own design with the Blue Man Group, Jimmy was hooked for life. Through middle school and high school, Jimmy studied at the New England Conservatory taking advanced classes in transcription, theory, aural skills, composition and arranging. While studying drums in Boston with Gary Fieldman and Kenwood Dennard, Jimmy gigged extensively, and recorded his first record with Cara Campanelli. In college, Jimmy studied Music Industries at Loyola University New Orleans under John Snyder (GRAMMY winning producer of Etta James), which culminated in an internship with New Voice Entertainment (Tully Kennedy, Kurt Alison, Rich Redmond-the powerhouse band and producers behind Jason Aldean) where he continues to assist. Jimmy is now Drummer/Bandleader for Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears younger sister who has launched a music career of her own. When he isn't touring with Jamie Lynn, Jimmy plays with acts such as David Fanning, Cole Taylor, Abigail Rose, Aaron Parker opening for acts such as Alabama, Collective Soul, Trace Adkins, Chase Rice, Better than Ezra and many more.
